Doctors, nurses, and civilian eyewitnesses from the hospital in Douma, Syria, where the pro-terrorist Western allies claim “chemical weapons victims” were recently treated, have all said there was never any such incident in evidence presented to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) head office in The Hague, Netherlands.
A report in the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said that the Syrian and Russian missions to the OPCW arranged for the transportation of 17 eyewitnesses to the OPCW Head Office in The Hague, Netherlands in order to “prove that the alleged chemical attack in Douma city is a fabricated play.”
Syria’s Deputy Representative to the OPCW, Ghassan Obeid, said that the presentation of eyewitnesses aims would “reveal the false of allegations and lies of Western countries about the allegations of chemical use in Douma city.”
In a press conference at the OPCW, Obeid said that all the accusations against the Syrian state using chemicals in Douma were launched by Western countries to distort Syrian Arab Army’s image, which has been fighting terrorism for seven years, and based on the information of the so-called “White Helmets.”
He pointed out that the Syrian mission at The Hague sent more than 100 letters to the OPCW on the planning of terrorist groups to provoke the use of chemicals in order to accuse the Syrian Arab Army.
“We provided specific information with coordinates of the location of terrorists’ chemical weapons stockpiles,” he said.
Obeid added that Washington, London and Paris did not wait for the arrival of the fact-finding mission of the OPCW, which Syria called for to verify allegations of chemical use in Douma and launched an attack against Syria to obstruct the work of the mission’s experts.
He added that the Syrian Arab Army found a large warehouse for terrorists in the city of Douma containing chemical, toxic and explosive materials.
Russia’s Permanent Representative to the OPCW, Alexander Shulgin, said at the same press conference that “we have no doubt that the allegations of chemical use in Douma are a fabricated and provocative play staged by Western media.”
Shulgin said that Washington, Paris and London had no respect for the international law; while at the same time pretend that they are protecting it, adding: “Their aggression on Syria is a lack of respect for the OPCW.”
Back in Moscow, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova told another press conference that those who carried out the false propaganda campaign of the alleged chemical attack in Douma “must be held accountable,” as it had provoked the tripartite aggression against Syria.
Zakharova pointed out that the “victims” specifically mentioned by French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian had not been found, and that no casualties, injuries or effects caused by chemical weapons had been found in Douma.
