Olympics Prove Reality of Race

The dominance by blacks at the short-distance track events at the Rio Olympics has once again proven the reality of race and genetics over liberal postulations of “nurture.”

The 100 meter race in particular demonstrated that Africans with ancestry in West Africa are genetically dominant at sprint racing.

Jon Entine, executive director of the Genetic Literacy Project, and author of the best-selling book Taboo: Why Black Athletes Dominate Sports and Why We Are Afraid to Talk about It, pointed out the link between race and sporting ability in a new column on his website.

Titled “Usain Bolt’s Olympic gold shows again why no Asian, white–or East African–will ever be crowned world’s fastest human,” the article says that “no one was surprised that Usain Bolt took home the gold in the race for the title of world’s fastest human.”

Nor was the fact that all of the finalists trace their ancestry to Africa—specifically West or South Africa—a familiar phenomenon to anyone who even vaguely follows elite running.”

The 100 meter race was contested by 8 Africans—with different nationalities: Usain Bolt (Jamaica); Justin Gatlin (USA); Andre De Grasse (Canada); Yohan Blake (Jamaica); Akani Simbine (South Africa); Ben Youssef Meïté (Côte d’Ivoire); Jimmy Vicaut (France); and Trayvon Bromell (USA).

As Entine points out, when “it comes to opportunity, running is the most egalitarian of global sports, a natural laboratory.”

Unlike the props and costumes required for, say, professional football or ice hockey, or the intense coaching demanded of gymnastics, swimming or golf, anyone can just lace up and go for a run.

With regard to the 100 meter event, Entine goes on to say that

One thing has been clear about this race for decades: it is not an event for Asians, Caucasians or any other racial group other than athletes who trace their ancestry to West or South Africa.

And if there is anything we can be sure, the athletes that make the finals in the top sprinting events won’t always be the hardest working or the best coached.

At the most elite level, the victory is contested by only those with the best genes—and that’s determined by tens of thousands of years of evolutionary selection.

He goes on to mock those liberals who might demand that for the sake of “diversity” the medal winners at the Olympics should represent all races, pointing out that running has become obviously segregated by race:

Those who do not understand the power of genes might argue that the medal podium for runners should reflect a rainbow of diversity, as no country or region should have a lock on desire or opportunity.

But just the opposite has happened in track and field: running has become almost entirely segregated by ancestry.

The trends are eye opening: Among men, athletes of African ancestry hold every major running record, from the 100m to the marathon … But still journalists, unschooled in genetics 101, who bow to political correctness, attempt to persuade us that environment and culture are what matters most at the elite levels of competitive sports.

The cultural arguments pale against the hard science . . . Evolution has shaped significant physical and physiological differences . . . We have no choice but to face this third rail of genetics and sports.

The reason for West African dominance in field events is, according to Entine,

Genetically linked, highly heritable characteristics such as skeletal structure, the distribution of muscle fiber types, reflex capabilities, metabolic efficiency, and lung capacity . . . [which are] not evenly distributed among human populations.

He then goes on to list racial ability in sports:

Asians, on average, tend to be smaller with shorter extremities and long torsos. . . China, for example, excels in many Olympics sports, for a variety of reasons.

One of those reasons, according to geneticists, is that they are more flexible on average—a potential advantage in diving, gymnastics (hence the term “Chinese splits”) and figure skating.

Whites of Eurasian ancestry are mesomorphic: larger and relatively muscular bodies with comparatively short limbs and thick torsos. No prototypical sprinter or marathoner here.

These proportions are advantageous in sports in which strength rather than speed is at a premium. Predictably, Eurasians dominate weightlifting, wrestling, and most field events, such as the shot put and hammer.

At the Olympics, with the exception of some competitive Koreans, the top lifters come from a band of Eurasian countries: across Eastern Europe and through Russia, Ukraine, China, Kazakhstan, Iran and Turkey. Despite the image of the sculpted African body, no African nation has won an Olympic lifting medal.

Blacks in general have heavier skeletons and less body fat—key genetic hindrances when it comes to such sports as competitive swimming.

  1. No one wants to face the reality of genetic physiological differences between the races because that naturally leads to the inevitability of psychological and intellectual differences between the races, of which nearly a century’s worth of research has already proven. But never mind that. Just keep repeating, “There’s only one race, the human race. We’re all the same; we’re all the same.”

I find it odd that no one claims that all birds evolved from one ancient bird or that all fish descended from a single fish millions of years ago and yet, we’re supposed to believe that all humans descended from one ancient woman in Africa, the Out of Africa “Theory”. This theory is just an idea, a hypothesis that has absolutely no scientific evidence behind it and still, it’s repeated so often in the media, for obvious reasons, that people actually think it’s fact, when nothing could be further from the truth. I believe that at some point in the future, when real science and truth are the order of the day, we’ll discover that the races developed independently of each other and that one is not a product or a further evolution of another.

    1. Skill sets are also an adaptation to geography. Think about the hunting/gathering open spaces of Africa and the number of animals that run to escape predators, or predators that must chase their prey. Agricultural Europe, on the other hand, is mountainous and rocky, where strength is needed to climb and plow, and horses were used for hauling/plowing & dogs were used for herding. Agriculture takes strength—those horses are still BIG—loading hay, veggies, harvesting fields—it makes sense. Our ancestors had hard lives. In America, slave life killed off the physically weak African population and allowed the hardiest to survive. But in only rare circumstances was it ever believed that Africans were intellectually superior…one could argue they may never be able to compete equally in the intelligence Olympics that is modern society. It may not be PC, but we may be wasting our time thinking most American blacks are suddenly going to be intellectual giants no matter how much $$$ we spend on their education. The “White man’s burden” people may have known of what they spoke. It’s been 155 years since slavery ended, and where are blacks today? Still running…from responsibility, from self-discipline, and from the cops. What will happen when runners clash with strength and intelligence?

  2. The truth of it is, not all people are equal in everything. Certain races that have not out bred with other races to any great extent still retain their unique abilities. As in the case of the runners, many of their race have larger lungs, stronger bones and sometime larger bones than those in other races. For whatever reason, this is a subject not much researched or talked about.

  3. I’ve stated this many times in the past
    that genetics is everything. Racial
dilution pollution is no good for any

  4. I would say academia recognises racial difference to an extent but hits a brick wall when it comes to human behaviour, brain size and intelligence. So “we’re all different” but magically when it comes to what happens in our head there is no variation? Political propaganda masquerading as science.

While anthropologist in China, Japan and India are studying and publishing papers from the data provided by the human genomes project on how it effects human behavioru & intelligence Western anthropologist just regurgitate and reproduce boasian anthropology textbooks from the 1960’s; a school of thought which it’s creators admit was entirely political.

  5. The article mentions South African blacks excelling in sports – this is nonsense, S.A. Blacks are relatively small and weak – they are not the same sub-species as W.African blacks. S.A. whites (only 8% of the population) always win far more medals than S.A blacks.

  6. @Anthony deep down you know that , if they had facilities and sponsorship that white people have they were going to dominate. Let me ask you this who is the fastest South African who was in the 100m finals is he black or white ?

    1. they’ve had the “facilities and sponsorship” for over 20 years now, and still whites dominate most sports in SA – sprinting may be the exception that proves the rule. Whites are actively discriminated against – all the money is thrown at “black” sports. As I said I’m going by the medal count. Even the all-black SA soccer team is a joke. As I said they’re not the same species – thats because they’ve intermingled with the Khoi, the true indigenes of S.Africa.
