Ron Paul: Clinton, Trump, Equally Clueless

No matter what the outcome of the U.S. Presidential election, Americans are going to be disappointed at its outcome because both candidates are equally clueless about the root causes of America’s crisis, veteran politician Ron Paul has said.

Writing in a column on his website, Paul—a former congressman and presidential candidate himself—said that it is a “sad commentary on the state of political life in the United States that our political conventions have become more like rock music festivals than competitions of ideas.”

Pointing out that there has been a “great deal of bombast, of insults, of name-calling, and of chest-beating at both party conventions,” Paul said that what is “disturbingly absent is any mention of how we got to this crisis and how we can get out.

“From the current foreign policy mess to the looming economic collapse, all we hear is both party candidates saying they will fix it, no problem,” he continued.

In her convention speech Hillary Clinton promised that she would “fight terrorism” and defeat ISIS by doing more of what we have been doing all along: bombing.

In fact we have dropped more than 50,000 bombs on ISIS in Iraq and Syria over the past two years and all she can say is that she will drop more. How many more bombs will defeat ISIS? How many more years will she keep us in our longest war, Afghanistan? She doesn’t say.

In fact, the New York Times—certainly not hostile to the Clintons—wrote that it was almost impossible to fact-check Hillary’s speech because, “she delivered a speech that was remarkably without hard facts.”

Clinton’s top foreign policy advisor said just a day after her convention speech that her big plan for Syria was to go back to square one and concentrate on overthrowing its secular president.

How many more thousands more will die if she gets her way? And won’t she eventually be forced to launch a massive US ground invasion that will also kill more Americans?

Clinton does not understand that a policy of endless interventionism has brought us to our knees and made us far weaker. Does she really expect us to be the policemen of the world with $20 trillion in debt?

Likewise, Republican candidate Donald Trump misses the point. He promises to bring back jobs to America without any understanding of the policies that led to their departure in the first place.

Yes, he is correct that the middle class is in worse shape than when Obama took office, but not once did he mention how it happened: the destructive policies of the Federal Reserve. The financing of our warfare/welfare state through the printing of phony money. Distorted interest rates that encourage consumption and discourage saving and investment.

Trump tweeted this week that home ownership is at its lowest rate in 51 years. He promised that if elected he will bring back “the American dream.”

He seems to have no idea that home ownership is so low because the Fed-created housing bubble exploded in 2007–2008, forcing millions of Americans who did not have the means to actually purchase a home to lose their homes. Not a word about the Fed from Trump.

How are these candidates going to fix the problems we face in America if they have absolutely no idea what caused the problems?

No matter who is elected, Americans are going to be very disappointed in the outcome.

The warfare/welfare state is going to proceed until we are bankrupt.

There is hope, however. It is up to us to focus on the issues, to focus on educating ourselves and others, and to demand that politicians listen.

  1. Well Paul, you haven’t said how you would fix it! At least Trump will sort this unfettered immigration out, especially the religion of peace, as Cameron calls them!

  2. As if Ron Paul knows the stuff.Never ever mentioning the Jewish Lobby. Scratching a little bit on the surface is not enough. The FED is a tool serving the Jewish Lobbyists to maintain control over the goyim. How many debts are accumulated is not important. They know it can never ever be paid back.
Only control and power counts and as long as sufficient people are working the system will survive The only reason it might break down is genetically. When the creative genes are no longer there to main the standard of living,
But all these economic nonsense babble about bankruptcy and debt is utterly ridiculous. If the debt policy of the US were to be applied to private persons than they would be long executed by the bailiff and homeless.

  3. Ron Paul is wrong by equating Donald Trump with a political bitch called Hillary Clinton, because Whatever the shortcomings of Donald Trump are, he remains the lesser of two evils. What Ron Paul failed to understand, is that America needs a change after 8 years of disastrous policies carried out by the current democratic administration.

    1. I think it’s unfair to label Mr. Trump as an “evil” (as you said: “…he remains the lesser of two evils”).
Mr. Trump should not be viewed as an evil, but rather someone who genuinely cares, and is willing to attempt the salvage of the country. The Evil-Twat Clinton on the other hand is hell-bent on its destruction specifically FOR all those reasons which we find ourselves at the brink of that destruction.
When America doesn’t sneeze without first considering how it affects Israel — there is a problem – a BIG problem. We are a nation of bitches for Zionist Israel, which through their thirst for realestate and power, we’ve become nothing other than a country of powerful carpet baggers, seated in positions of power and influence. America’s top-dogs, CEO’s, political and policy makers, hollywood, the media, movers and shakers, bankers, government influential’s, et al — are at present occupied by a ratio of over 60% Zionist Jew whose allegiance is to Israel over America (but the Jew is represented at only 2% of USofA’s population). Most even have dual citizenship with Israel, yet are seated in very powerful American places. If Mr. Trump goes into this blind to that fact — then there is no hope for us. But, I don’t think he is blind, and hasn’t become the billionaire he is, WITHOUT knowing who is in control (Israel). Hopefully, he can remove America from Israel’s death-grip – but it’s going to take a lot more than 4-yrs, and a lot more than just us lowly citizens backing him. I am hopeful he will perform in America’s best interests, and not the interests of Israel.

  4. The US problem is beyond only economical issues, which are dreadful, but even more sinister is foreign policy of cLINTON. For Trump, as far as I know, He is not very keen to go bombing other countries and chasing after their leaders and “bringing them freedom and democracy”. As a side effect of the policy of that witch, we have now Europe turned into chaos. She should be prosecuted for that crime, and also for the crime She committed against USA.
So, with all respect to my favoured Libertarian, Ron Paul, no, they are not remotely the same and the wider political consequence of choosing between the two, will not be remotely the same.

  5. Both candidates are Zionist running dogs, just that they do their work differently. Trump’s comments on stopping Muslim immigration are not helpful in the sense that they aren’t coming by themselves, but it’s Zionists who are bringing them to America and radicalizing them. It’s Zionists who created ISIS and it’s Zionists who have brainwashed Muslims into hating Americans and American culture. It’s Zionists who control the alternative media who has also brainwashed Americans into hating Muslims. Note that before Israel came into existence there was no such thing as so-called “Islamic terrorism”. This is no coincidence because as it turns out, Islam is NOT a religion of terror, but it’s Israel and Jewish supremacism that has not only perfected the art of terrorism, but also the art of deception by blaming Muslims for each and every terrorist act, which in fact has Jewish fingerprints all over them.

Meanwhile the Zionists sit back and watch the show, mistakenly thinking no one has been able to figure out who is really behind all of this. The answer of course is Zionism, the biggest threat to world peace and security that ever existed.

The only way to solve America’s problems will be to do at least what JFK tried to do (and what got him killed):

    1. End the fed
    2. Register all Israeli lobbies, particularly AIPAC as foreign agents
    3. Bring back all American troops from abroad and close down American bases in ALL countries

Additionally, I would do the following:

    4. Remove ALL Jews from key positions of power in government, media, academia and the financial system
    5. Get Americans to turn out in their millions on the streets with their guns and demand the current system of government be abolished
    6. Rebuild the countries that America has bombed, paving the way for millions of refugees and economic migrants to return to their countries of origin

    1. Crickey John more chances of me winning lotto than any of that happening. I think at best all people can hope for is for borders to be closed and stop the flood of third world terrorists/beneficiaries which is the most doable thing to – even then that looks like one hell of a stretch
