Trump’s DHS Secretary Supports “Dreamer” Amnesty

In yet another indication of the Trump administration’s complete betrayal of its voters and its election promises, the Trump-appointed Department of Homeland Security John Kelly has come out in full support of giving illegal invaders full amnesty under the Obama-created “DACA” program.

Speaking before the racially-based Hispanic-only “Hispanic Congressional Caucus” (HCC), Kelly told the Hispanics that he personally supports the 2012 program, known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which was started by Obama to grant amnesty to the children of illegal aliens.

Opposition to DACA became one of Donald Trump’s main immigration control platforms, but in April this year, Trump turned 180 degrees and said that “Dreamers” should “rest easy” and not fear deportation.

David Lapan, Kelly’s spokesman, told media after his bosses’ meeting with the Hispanic only committee that he (Kelly) “indicated that he is, again, supportive of DACA as he has said in the past. He repeated his position that Congress is the source of being a long term solution for DACA.”

However, Kelly told the Hispanics, in his opinion it was unlikely that the DACA program would survive the current legal challenge being made against it.

Kelly’s evaluation comes shortly after the state of Texas confirmed that it was taking the Trump administration to court for failing to halt the “Dreamer” amnesty swindle, as Trump himself promised during his election campaign.

HCC member Rep. Ruben Kihuen (D-Nev.) said Kelly could tip the scales with Republicans in favor of permanent status for Dreamers.

“We know that if he supports this proposal, maybe Republicans will reach an agreement with Democrats and we can pass a law,” he said.

HCC Rep. Mario Díaz-Balart (R-Fla.) agreed that Kelly holds considerable sway in the Republican conference. “General Kelly is greatly admired by everybody here,” said Díaz-Balart.

Kelly told the Hispanic-only Hispanic Congressional Caucus that the final decision about whether to defend DACA lies with the Justice Department and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, but the secretary said the lawyers he’s spoken with don’t believe it would withstand a legal test.

  1. During the campaign season, and through inauguration day and for a very short time after that, radical leftists were rioting against Donnie Trump. The leftist anti-Trump rioting has, since January, died down – and why not? Seeing how Trump's actual governance is so at variance with his campaign rhetoric that had leftists so riled up, they have had a sufficient amount of time to see that there is little in his actual governance for them to strenuously object to. At this point, if anyone should be out in the streets rioting against Donnie Trump, its the people who voted for him.
