Trump, Chicago Crime, and Racial Ignorance

U.S. President Donald Trump’s apparent ignorance of the relationship between race and crime—as exemplified by his “Chicago needs help!” tweet over the latest shootings in that city—are symptomatic of the establishment’s denial of the reality of racial differences.

Trump sent out a tweet on February 23, saying “Seven people shot and killed yesterday in Chicago. What is going on there — totally out of control. Chicago needs help!”

Earlier, Trump had also promised to “send in the Feds” to end the violence in Chicago and other major cities—as if increased law enforcement has any hope of bringing the crime plague under control.

Last week, he said Chicago was “worse than almost any of the places in the Middle East.”

Homicides are steadily increasing in Chicago, and the latest set of shootings has meant that the city has already outpaced last year’s record tally.

The seven deaths to which Trump referred were the most homicides in one day since Christmas last year, when eight people were killed in the city.

By Wednesday evening this week, the 75 percent plus nonwhite city had recorded its 99th homicide two days earlier than it did last year, according to the Chicago Tribune.

That newspaper only gave the police districts where the most homicides had occurred: Harrison police district on the West Side (16 this year compared to 12 this time last year), the Austin district, also on the West Side (11 homicides), Ogden on the Near West Side (10 homicides), Englewood on the South Side (9 homicides), and Calumet on the South Side (6 homicides).

Needless to say, all these areas are majority black or Hispanic.

The number of shootings—as distinct from the number of homicides—is also increasing. According to the Chicago Tribune, as of Wednesday evening this week, at least 495 people had been shot in Chicago, nearly 60 more than at that time last year.

Another story in the same newspaper—normally reluctant to refer to race in its coverage of the violence—was unusually more open about the nonwhite nature of the violence.

In a story titled “Some Chicago gangs turning to rifles for added firepower, police say,” the Chicago Tribune said that “Chicago police believe four Hispanic gangs have used high-powered rifles in at least 33 shootings in Back of the Yards and Brighton Park in recent months.”

The high-powered weapons, the newspaper added, consisted of AR-15s and AK-47s, which were a “menacing new development in the gang fights.”

“It’s unclear how many of the high-powered rifles are on the street, but police suspect they are being passed around by members of four Hispanic gangs in the Deering police district, which covers parts of the South and Southwest sides,” the paper added.

“Two of the gangs — La Raza [“the race”] near 47th and Loomis streets and the Almighty Saints near 45th and Wood streets — have been fighting for decades. But the conflict has expanded to the Satan Disciples and Two-Sixers in neighboring Brighton Park, where violence is less frequent,” the paper added.

The link between the increasing Third World population and the crime and violence which is endemic in their home countries is obvious to all but the willingly blind.

Only when the reality of the relationship between race, IQ, behavior, and psychology, is understood and accepted, can any realistic policy be developed to deal with social issues such as those plaguing Chicago.

    1. Yes, it must be true. Trump knows many things (e.g. 9/11, Fed, middle east, Jews, population) where the best course of action is uncertain, including of course the race situation.

  1. It seems that violence in the US – including the homicide rate – has been increasing since the media started showing details of black criminals being shot by, mainly white, police (such as the Michael Brown case). The led to the Black Lives Matter movement, riots, and, I suspect, less officious policing. As I understand it there were about 11% more homicides in the US in 2015 than 2014. And no doubt figures for 2016 will show another increase.
