The Israeli parliament has passed the first reading of the “Jewish State Bill”—which will legally define Israel as a Jews-only state, states that only Jews have the “unique right to self-determination,” and legalizes the establishment of “new communities solely for Jews.”
In particular, the bill states that every individual has the right “to preserve his or her culture, heritage, language and identity,” but that the right to realize self-determination “is unique to the Jewish people.”
According to a report in the Jerusalem-based Times of Israel, the “Jewish State bill” passed its first reading in the Knesset early on Tuesday this week. The bill still needs to pass a second and third reading before it becomes law.
In terms of the bill, created by Likud parliamentarian Avi Dichter, Israel will be formally defined as “the national home of the Jewish people.”
The law will also become one of Israel’s Basic Laws, which determine Israel’s legal system and are more difficult to repeal than regular laws.
The bill was approved in its preliminary reading last year May. Proponents wanted to pass it in the last Knesset session, but it was held up due to a dispute with the Kulanu party, a coalition member, the Times of Israel said.
One of the provisions instructs the justice system to prefer Israel’s Jewish character to its democratic one in “cases where the two are at odds,” a clause which caused considerable debate and which was eventually “reportedly softened,” the Times of Israel added.
In another clause, Arabic would be relegated from an official language to one with “special status,” which would ensure its speakers the “right to accessible state services.”
The demand by Jews to have the “unique right to self-determination” as stated in the Jewish State Bill is, of course, in direct contradiction to the demands made on whites in Europe, America, and elsewhere by all organized Jewish lobbies, who insist that all white nations be “multi-racial” and accept immigrants from all over the world.
At the same time, all these organized Jewish lobbies support Israel and the “Jewish people’s unique right to self-determination.”
Jews make up about 80 percent of Israel and the debate over whether that state can stay Jewish in the face of the Arab birthrate has long been a matter of concern to its leaders.
Data recently released by one of Israel’s leading demographics experts revealed that the number of Arabs inside Israel, when added to those in the Palestinian territories—will soon equal that of Jews in Israel.
Sergio DellaPergola, a demographer from Jerusalem’s Hebrew University, said the numbers of Arabs and Jews are nearly equal when you factor in the population of the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem along with the population of Israel.
DellaPergola said that there are currently about 6.9 million Jews in Israel and the Palestinian territories, compared to 6.5 million Arabs, and that the gap was likely to be closed completely within 15–20 years.
- News of the passing of the first reading of the Jewish State Bill has, of course, been blacked out by the Jewish Lobby controlled media in the west.
